After-school tutoring is to provide homework help with additional skill-building in the areas of math and english. We also incorporate cultural knowledge by providing students with arts & crafts at certain times of the year. Instruction is provided by Yukon teachers and paraprofessionals in one-on-one and small group settings for 1st-6th grade students.
Enrollment in NASS is required.
Completed NASS tutoring form is reuired.
A small snack is provided by the Title 6 program.
Spots are limited.
NASS offers remediation to increase the students' classroom performance in reading and math. This can be offered for students as early as PreK.
Enrollment in NASS is required.
Consideration for this support is based upon certain factors which include but are not limited to: reading scores, math scores, testing, and teacher recommendation.
Schools that provide support assistance during the day are: Central Elementary, Independence Intermediate, Parkland Elementary, Myers Elementary, Shedeck Elementary, and Surrey Hills Elementary
Mrs. Foxx's room at Independence Intermediate.
Mr. Buchanan's room at Parkland Elementary. He is also at Central Elementary.
Mrs. Hamel's room at Myers Elementary. She is also at Shedeck Elementary.
Ms. Gaines's room at Surrey Hills Elementary.
Daytime Tutoring Activities
Cultural activities are brought in at different times throughout the year for students who are enrolled in Title VI/NASS. All supplies are provided by the NASS program.

After-School Tutoring Activities
Students in after-school tutoring have greater opportunities to participate in these activities due to the time allowed.
Students in after-school tutoring at Redstone Intermediate learned how to research their tribe, and made a booklet with the information they found - November 2023
